On May 14, 2023, Jordan Taylor and Antonio Garcia of Corvette Racing most definitely 

didn't receive the finish they'd hoped for, as a late-race penalty proved to be the end of their

Early in the two hours and forty minutes of the race, the No. 3 Corvette Racing squad

 was running close to the lead of the GTD Pro class. After thirty minutes, Taylor 

was summoned into the pits and took the lead when Patrick Pilet and Klaus Bachler's No. 9 

 9 Porsche was penalized for leaving Pit Road while it was blocked.Up until his second

 pit stop an hour into the race, when he gave Garcia control of the racing car,

 Taylor maintained the lead in the No. 3 C8.R. In the GTD Pro class, Garcia and the No. 3 C8.R

started second, just behind Ross Gunn and Alex Riberas' No. 23 Aston Martin.

With less than an hour remaining in the race, the Corvette Racing vehicle kept chasing the No. 23

Aston Martin's taillights until a full-course yellow flag caused the field to slow down. 

Garcia received a penalty for inadvertently following the No. 23 Aston Martin around the safety car,
