The 2023 IMSA season got off to a spectacular start for Corvette Racing, 

as the No. 3 Corvette C8.R seemed to be a dominating force until misfortune struck

during the last laps of the Daytona 24 Hours. The Bow Tie, on the other hand, persevered

 fought until the very end, placing second in the GTD Pro class overall.

Brake damage happened from a blown tire on the No. 3 Corvette C8.R, which was driven by Tommy Milner

 Jordan Taylor, and Antonio Garcia working together. Before blasting back out on the course

, the Bow Tie's lone GTD entry had to have its rear brake calipers and rotors replaced.

In the end, the Corvette C8.R would lead 201 of the 729 laps it completed, undoubtedly

 The Corvette Racing squad had clawed its way back into the top three racers in the GTD class 

clock approached the final three hours. On the challenging Daytona infield road circuit

, the No. 3 C8.R battled tooth and nail with the No. 14 Lexus RC F and the No. 79 Mercedes

and the No. 3 C8.R crossed the finish line 3.9 seconds behind the Lexus in second position.
